Fire Bird Ring

There is a bird of lore who, after trials and troubles, expires in those ways. In some stories he lives for hundreds of years until he dies, in others he is consumed by fires that cannot be contained. Then one day, he rises anew, flies up into the sky, and lives in a realm that is good. Many cultures around the world have stories of this mythology, high teachers are said to live a sort of metaphor of this, and if we pay attention we can see this cycle play out in our own lives. Over and over, we give life to that story, perpetuating the endless death and ascent of the fire bird.

Where do we go when we ascend? What do we feel when our own life seems to reach the highest point we have known? What do we do in that space? One thing is true: It is there where we can hear our heart.

I created this ring as a symbol of this cycle, speaking to the ways things die or fall from life, and the way they rise again. Strength and perseverance, tending to our own fires, allows us to not only endure this cycle but emerge newer and wiser.

The stone is a piece of fire agate from the southwestern lands, and if you allow the sun to shine just right upon it, it is full of its own stories to tell. I will let the keeper of this ring see what they may.
