 One of a kind

Arcana, from the Latin arcanus, meaning 'secret'. It was often used in reference to the mysteries of the physical and spiritual worlds. Alchemists were commonly said to be pursuing the arcana of nature. In building this collection of jewelry, gathering the stones to be encased in silver, sketching late into the night symbols and mysteries that swirl around this sacred desert land, ARCANA was born—the pieces are ripe with the secrets and mysteries of nature, our people, our search for meaning, our bone deep ache for true beauty. I hope those who choose to bring these adornments into their lives are met with an undying sense of wonder and beauty upon their path.

I was out with my lilacs one day recently, and what I thought was a hummingbird flitted around the blossoms and me. It had black and white stripes, with the body of a large butterfly, and I knew this was neither a hummingbird nor a butterfly! It has to be a moth, I thought, but it was drinking the nectar from the flowers with its tiny proboscis and I had not seen one do that. After a little searching I found it to be a hummingbird or sphinx moth. It was joyful like a hummingbird alighting on the purple blossoms, and flew carefree like the butterfly, whispering of days full of nectar and light. After spending months in the dark unknown of the underground, it emerges unscathed, anew, and ready to fly about the world with its new wings. Let this talisman guide you through what you may not know until you reach the inevitable light.
